Charise Murphy was born September 24, 1995 in Rockford, IL. At age 6 she fell in love with singing and later in her childhood developed a love for dance. At age 13 she joined a local dance team called Fatally Unique. Charise and the dance team competed in dance competitions including BET Blaze the Stage, 106&Park’s Wild N Out Wednesday, and were semifinalists on America’s Got Talent, Season 6, 2011. Although dance had been a huge part of her life, music is her passion.
Charise began writing music at the age of 16. Her music is a reflection of experience, situation, and raw emotion in her life. Her sound is soft but powerful, vibey, and melodic. Beyonce’, Chris Brown, and Michael Jackson are artists who have inspired her from the beginning of her music journey. In September of 2015 she independently released her first EP called “Off The Ground”, which was a great accomplishment for the artist.
The work continues as Charise grows – performing at local shows in her hometown and surrounding areas, and creating music that draws you in and leaves you wanting more. Currently Charise is working with various producers on a new independent project coming soon. Meanwhile, her new single “IWY” is out to purchase on iTunes and available on all major streaming platforms.
